Over the Hill Gang – Lake Havasu Chapter History

In early 2001 a group of Havasu hot rod enthusiasts got together and held their first meeting and formed the Lake Havasu City chapter of Over the Hill Gang. The first meeting was conducted on January 9, 2001 and an election of officers was held as follows:

Officers:
President                          Dale Geer*
Vice President                 Jerry Crowe*
Treasurer                          Don Schulz*
Secretary                         Don Sauberan*

Appointed positions:
Club Shirts                        Ollie Frazier
Run Chairman                    Pat Keenan
Newsletter                      Eddie Ebach*
Webmaster                     Howard Little
50/50                              Tom Virden

The Ramada Inn (now Quality Inn) was selected to be the Club’s monthly meeting place and continues to this day. The new president’s goals were to have all new as well as existing members feel welcome at our events or runs and to have fun at our monthly meetings as well as conducting its business. The newsletter was to be called the Road Rash and Eddie Ebach’s original format is still in use. Club shirts were designed, voted on and the color was to be white. The first out of town run was to Topock on January 20th with 24 cars making the trip. Total membership as of September 2001 was 44 members

The Club continues to welcome individuals with a pre 1987 vehicle to join the Over the Hill Gang Havasu and participate in Havasu’s hot rod fun and activities. Monthly meetings are held at the Quality Inn on the second Tuesday of each month.
